Henkel recognized under the topic of ‘Supplier Leadership’
Walmart embarked on their sustainability journey over 10 years ago in an effort to improve operations and make a positive impact beyond their company. Walmart recognizes partner companies for their excellent efforts in sustainability leadership.
This year, Henkel was highlighted in Walmart’s ninth annual Global Responsibility Report. The Report features global responsibility activities of Walmart’s operations and the Walmart Foundation. Within this report, Walmart featured Henkel for its ingredient transparency and empowering consumers with additional information on ingredients.
Henkel greatly values the collaboration with Walmart on sustainability. Since Walmart announced its environmental goals in 2005, Henkel has been a key partner with Walmart on many initiatives. One of the key aspects of Henkel’s partnership is that Henkel is a co-founder with Walmart in the establishment of The Sustainability Consortium, a collaboration between universities (Arizona State University and University Arkansas), retailers, manufacturers such as Henkel and NGOs devoted to sustainability. Over the last several years, Henkel has deepened the partnership, which has enhanced both corporate and product sustainability.
This year, Henkel was recognized by Walmart as the Sustainability Supplier of the Year in Consumables for Beauty Care and Laundry and Home Care. Henkel also received this award two times prior since 2008 and has won similar awards in Mexico, Central America and Canada.
Our sustainability strategy is rooted in all that we do. By 2030, Henkel aims to triple the value it creates for the footprint made by its operations, products and services, ultimately creating more value for our customers and consumers, for the communities we operate in, and for the company.
